Candid Cat Conversations

Cats are smart and independent as we all know. Here are a couple of buddies discussing what they’re going to do today, as well as life in general.

After tea, wanna go out and look for a few birds?
I’ll bet when we get out I can beat you to the gate!
Do the Roberts still live in the old farmhouse? I heard they had mice.
Did you ever wonder what it’s like living in an 18th century Chateaux?
I don’t know about you, but I’m sick of this cartoon life!
six months later ——See???? Piece of cake! I told you we could do it!!!!

We dropped by a few weeks later. Check this out!

fyi: I created this little story with prompts and my cat art. When I started putting it together, I had no idea where it was going. All I knew was I wanted a few different breeds of felines and a window with a window sill that I could cover with different fabrics, and a few outdoor views and weather conditions that told different stories. So the teapots eventually became samovars in France??? Doesn’t bother me. I added the idea and the text of Provence because it’s a dreamy place and Freepix offers cool instant graphics. The images become increasingly sophisticated as the story developed. This little story was created in Freepix AI. You can try it out. I’m getting a feel for it. I think with an extended plot , this could become something kind of precious.

This is my watercolor of Jake and Elroy. Collection of July Schlotman.

Your comments are appreciated and sharing is good too. It’s a new world out there and I’m in because I believe AI can help artists. Even artists like me.👌

Overwhelming tmi

Too much information is not good for the creative mind. It blocks, it mocks, it kills free thought. Here is a new work in the making… Lost love teenager in Paris.

Post election despair

I’m done. I’m fried. I can’t deal with the raging insanity. I understand why this happened now thanks to Chris Hedges, American economist. I get it. Reality tells me to keep going making art that nobody cares about or wants or can’t connect with. I can only keep going. I know no other way.  Some choose alcohol, or drugs.  I sketch and get lost in my creations. So be it.

I see paper dolls, scraps of rags that turn into Cinderella silks. It is who I am. I cannot change what motivates me. I can only change and modify my visual message. This is how I will heal.

A Day in the Life of an artist

Artists view themselves pretty differently than the way the world in general sees them.  I am bringing you a little series I originally drew sometime in the mid 1980’s.  Pretty old, huh.  I found the sketches packed away in some dusty box.  I brought them into my computer and am redrawing them on my Cintique tablet.

I think this will be a lot of fun to create a new take on an old issue of how artists view themselves.  Young or old, beginner or master, artists are colorful people.  Their personalities are reflected in what they make and do.  I tend to be kind of goofy sometimes and that is the best part of me I believe.

So here goes a new way of sketching.  Enjoy.

Here’s my link to find this image on a bunch of stuff you might want to buy.  I can’t ship anything from Mexico reasonably, practically or otherwise and for this reason, I use POD sites.

Goofing with hand lettering

IMG_0117-WIP-whatUlike

Back to the drawing and painting workspace.  Now that the major remodel has been done on my sweet little village house, and, now that I’m recovering from exhaustion, it is time to goof around and play a little.  I have an idea in my head for another series to be done simultaneously with the almost extinct animals of Mexico.  It’s about painting what you want to paint.  So this is a note to begin.  I will use a digital font for the art but this is just to break the ice and sit at this wonderful table.
I have lots of light here and room to spread out so it’s nothing but fun.  My internet is extremely poor and slow, but I’m hanging in there for a better day.  I have a hundred ideas for this “paint what you love” series.  If you have a suggestion for what you think I should love to paint, feel free and jump in.
