After Pablo Picasso’s rose period style painting of woman in chemise, I painted this watercolor with her sporting the picasso bug from Africa. This bug really does exist and I wanted him to adorn our most beloved painter of the 21st century. Find her on my tshirt here
This watercolor is from my Picasso bug series where this unique insect from Africa hold the title of “picasso bug”. I don’t know if he was named after the artist or not but when I found him I could not resist to paint him on some inspirations of the master’s early works. You can find him here.
Here’s a little sketch that I like…even though it’s ink on paper, it has gone through lots of changes. I have been having success with masking lately and I love coloring my art and combining it with text. I hope what is coming through here is the feeling that we all have had from time to time in new situations. You meet new people, go to new places where there are new groups of people that you don’t know etc. How awkward it can feel to be out of the elements that you call home. This little guy is not ready for prime time players as we can see by the look of sheer terror on his face. OF COURSE, a lot if not most of my art is not commercial but I put it out there on products for people to have fun with. I call this on another not commercial art in commercial art forums. ha Just picture what kind of ship he just got onboard to.
I love designing and drawing for Valentine day. I am really enjoying my progress in learning Spanish. I think you don’t really know something until you use it. So here are some of the new drawings I’ve been doing on the Cintique 24. enjoy.

Reworking the coloring process again. Actually I redrew this owl from an old pencil sketch today. The line art took 5 minutes. The digital coloring 2 hours –but I did learn a few things. If this were a painting, I would need a few more hours. But seeing as this is an exercise in the process of combining words with pictures at somewhat of a relative speed, I’m on the right track. Keep going little munchkin. You will make it to the finish line if the finish line doesn’t get you first. I will do it again. Here is the pencil sketch from a few years ago…
