Can you love your own work?

Colorful watercolor abstract

I don’t know why, but I gravitate to this watercolor. I love to see it super big but I think it looks good small also, like a little jewel. There is something about it that is mysterious. I give up on why I’m attracted to it. Maybe it’s whimsical and I think that says it all.

I am offering it in my Society 6 shop.

Sunface Mandala with birds

Another mandala that’s also a sun face. He’s a colorful dude and look closely and you will see there are a few birds hanging around his face. It could be a she of course. This is a big painting starting out with layers of intensely splashed colors of yellow and red. There are lots of watercolor layers, one on top of another building up tonal values. I seem to never get tired of painting sun faces.

See it here for purchase options.

Abstract shapes cut out colorful

Here is lots of color combining my hand drawn images into a big pattern. They look like stencil shapes but abstracted and the shapes have been skewed for effect. I’m really liking the colors because to me they are happy. Just for fun, I’m including the sketchpad of the original pen and ink artwork. Follow the yellow brick road to see it applied.
