I am following a little dream and a little experiment. I’m matching vintage songs with my drawings, sketches and cartoons. I’ve been wanting to do this forever. So now is the time….here we go. My hope is that when people of a certain age… 60 and above, see the verse, they will associate it with the melody. Hopefully, they won’t be able to get the song out of their heads.

We are finally having some sun here in Mexico. It’s been really cold and I can’t get used to it. So on my patio today I’ve been working on this large watercolor and intermittently putting the painting in the sun to dry. While it’s drying, I catch as many warm rays as I can. Boy, the sun feels great. I have not picked this painting up in a few months as I’ve been super busy with many things other than painting. So in a day or so, it should get finished if nothing else crazy happens.
World Exodus, Follow the Sun

Another landscape of imagination came to me in a dream. Imagine our world with no vegetation, no animals, no warmth from the sun.
The last vestiges of people march in robotic style towards a white sun, orange sky with tiny bright distant stars.
Red sun abstract landscape

What if? What if the world were to end like this? Beautiful colors with unlivable conditions? What if the sun as we know it failed to support life on this strange planet?
Golden Sun, landscapes of imagination

It is giving me a great piece of mind to paint strictly from my imagination. I am not sure why it is a healing and soothing activity, but I am enjoying it. I adore this watercolor paint for its intensity and versatility. It is pretty magical and powerful color. the red lines are a red permanent ink done with a speedball nib.
